Job Description:
PacWest Machinery is recruiting for a Financial Controller based
at its main location in Kent, Washington. PacWest is an equipment
distributor that provides a full line-up of heavy machinery
covering general production, road construction, utility and
specialty lines from companies including Volvo Construction
Equipment, Metso Minerals, GOMACO, Yanmar, Takeuchi, Atlas Copco
and others.
The Company currently operates six full-service branches and
delivers comprehensive sales, rental, parts and service support in
Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho. PacWest is a dynamic company

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The successful applicant will provide leadership and coordination
of the Company's accounting activities, financial planning,
reporting and budget management functions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Financial and operational knowledge of dealerships (equipment,
vehicles, etc.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control
principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting
systems.
Knowledge of credit application review and credit limit setting
Expert us of Excel and working knowledge of SQL database
architecture and ability to write queries to extract information
from ERP / accounting system
Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and
forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability
analysis.
Knowledge of federal, state and local financial regulations and
reporting requirements
Work requires professional written and verbal communication skills,
and an ability to work cooperatively within the larger management
group.
Ability to motivate financial team to produce quality materials
within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several
projectsIn addition to financial skills, the Controller must
maintain a positive and professional approach to serving
information and support needs of Company employees.
Extensive qualifications in certain categories may help offset a
lack of experience in other areas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) required
CPA license is preferred but not required.
Five or more years of related experience and/or training, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule
(occasional weekend and/or evening work).Position is based in Kent,
WA, with periodic travel to company locations in the Pacific
Northwest.While hybrid work arrangements are being used during the
coronavirus pandemic, this position is an in-person job.
Working conditions are normal for an office environment

Job Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of
accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer
credit and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity,
fixed asset records, and general & entity accounting.
Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted
accounting principles.
Prepare and issue timely monthly financial reports
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all
transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits,
controls and checks across all departments
Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budgeting
activities
Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting
requirements
Interface with outside audit firms, banks, casualty/liability
insurance company, credit card companies and collection
agencies
Provide accounting policy documentation and orientation for new
staff
Working knowledge and administration of healthcare and other
benefits programs.
Other duties as necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the
Accounting Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
company policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning,
directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance
reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
