Responsibilities: Are you a dedicated and skilled mechanic with a
passion for travel? Then join the MV Transportation team. -We are
seeking a highly skilled Nationwide Traveling Mechanic. This role
involves diagnosing, repairing/replacing, and maintaining buses and
automobiles across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has
extensive experience with advanced automotive/diesel systems,
excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring
vehicles are safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
PLEASE NOTE: - THIS ROLE REQUIRES EXTENSIVE NATIONWIDE TRAVEL, with
the majority of your time spent on the road. CANDIDATES MUST BE
COMFORTABLE BEING AWAY FROM HOME FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. - -
-Key Responsibilities:Diagnostics and Repairs:
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting of bus and automobile systems,
including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, and HVAC
systems.
- Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring compliance with
safety and manufacturer standards.Preventative Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, brake
inspections, and tire rotations.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle systems to minimize downtime and
extend the lifespan of equipment.Travel and On-Site Support:
- Travel to designated locations to provide on-site mechanical
services.
- Collaborate with local teams to ensure timely and efficient
repairs.Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed
in MV's Fleet Management System. Qualifications: Talent
Requirements:
- MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL FREQUENTLY. -
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification
preferred).
- Combination of at least five (5) years of verifiable training
and experience in automotive and/or diesel mechanics.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, diagnostics
tools, and advanced vehicle systems.
- Ability to work independently and handle a diverse
workload.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license required-CDL is a nice-to-have but not
required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random
drug testing.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work in various environments, including outdoors
and in adverse weather conditions.Starting pay rate range: $43/hr -
