Joint and Installation team in the Puget Sound in Washington. As a
Special Projects Mechanic, you will be at the forefront of

Responsibilities - Distribute and assign tasks to the assembly team
based on production requirements, utilizing tools such as bar
charts, flow charts, and Work Orders (W/O). - Maintain and update
personal and tool certifications to ensure compliance with industry
standards and safety regulations. - Initiate and document planning,
engineering, or tooling changes using appropriate forms and online
systems. - Verify the accuracy of pre-picked detail parts,
drawings, and assemblies against Work Orders, Installation Plans
(IP), and Bills of Material (BOM). - Perform layout work and create
shop aids to facilitate the fitting of parts into airframes and
special projects. - Utilize Precision Measuring Equipment (PME) and
laser trackers to locate and align parts on assembly tools
according to specifications. - Execute drilling, reaming, and
countersinking of holes in parts and assemblies, adhering to
specified sequences and sizes. - Disassemble parts and prepare them
for installation by deburring holes and cleaning surfaces with
solvents. - Apply sealants, primers, and adhesives as required by
Work Orders, Installation Plans, and specifications. - Install
fasteners in the correct sequence using appropriate tools, ensuring
compliance with specifications and drawings. - Locate and install
fuel, hydraulic, and high-pressure gas lines, conducting pressure
tests for leaks as necessary. - Bore and ream lug and fitting holes
to specified sizes using appropriate tools and fixtures. - Perform
rework on non-compliant parts to meet drawing tolerances, including
shot peening as required. - Collaborate with engineering teams to
address design-related issues or modifications during the assembly
process. - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by
suggesting enhancements to workflows or tools based on hands-on
experience. Physical Demands and Potential Hazards: - Perform
physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs
to 15-35 lbs. - Engage in various movements such as reaching,
handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing,
balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting. - Work in
environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and
coolants. - Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp
cutters, and potential slipping hazards. - Adapt to varying noise
levels and atmospheric conditions. - Utilize personal safety gear
to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job
duties. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected
candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed
location options. This position must meet Export Control compliance
requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §
120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful

Through Training Program). Basic Qualifications - 3 years of
experience using coordinate measurement machines, laser trackers,
and/or optical measurement devices. - 3 years of experience with
various types of hand held power tools - Experience defining
manufacturing and assembly plans for machining and fabrication of
parts, subassemblies, final assemblies. - Experience performing
aircraft structural and mechanical work. - Experience handling
chemicals and/or hazardous materials. Preferred Qualifications: -
Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics or similar industry.
- Enrollment in a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high
school or community and technology college academic program.
Typical Education & Experience: High school graduate or GED
