Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Yakima, Washington. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring WA or compact RN licensure and strong telemetry skills. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Position is located on a 34-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit - Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a, 36 hours per week - Care for a higher level of telemetry patients including post-PCI, CHF, MI, stroke, sepsis, and oncology - Typical night nurse to patient ratio is 1:5 - High Spanish-speaking and underserved patient population - Experience with post-cath lab procedures, TR bands, and titratable drips is needed - Tele patients only for those without oncology experience - Uses EPIC EMR; Epic experience required or must be able to learn quickly - Technology includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Draeger monitors - Floating may be required to other MS/tele units - Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday nights) - No on-call required, with holiday coverage of 1-2 holidays per contract - Responsibilities include frequent q15min checks for fresh cath patients and high acuity monitoring - Team nursing environment with strong support, including CNA, charge nurse, HUC, phlebotomy, IV team (until 2300), and 24/7 hospitalist coverage - Telemetry monitoring techs are present on unit, with reviews/sign-off every 4 hours - 2-12 hour on-unit orientation shifts in addition to hospital orientation are provided - Scrubs of any color are permitted - Free onsite parking is available - Work environment is team-oriented and traveler-friendly, with a focus on compassionate care for diverse populations - Schedule published in 4-week increments and up to 7 days off can be approved during the contract /n /n Requirements/n - Active WA or compact RN license required in hand or pending at time of consideration - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; ONS preferred - Minimum one year of telemetry experience required for all candidates - First-time travelers accepted with two years of experience and at least one year in telemetry - Experience with trach care, chest tubes, post-cath care, central line maintenance, Bipap, high-flow oxygen, and cardiac rhythm interpretation required - Ability to titrate drips such as diltiazem and heparin per protocol required /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-660026.
