Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is seeking skilled Locum Physicians to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide, including in Washington State. This is a unique opportunity to provide essential healthcare services to Veterans while enjoying competitive pay and flexible scheduling. Required Skills: Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Washington State Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related fields Experience in general medicine and familiarity with compensation and pension examinations preferred Excellent interview skills and ability to perform physical assessment components such as range of motion and muscle strength testing Strong written communication skills for thorough and timely report submissions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience conducting VA or government-related medical assessments Familiarity with electronic medical record systems Certification in specific procedures or additional medical specialties Additional language skills or cultural competency in veteran populations Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited program At least 2 years’ clinical experience in general medicine or related fields Prior experience performing compensation and pension exams is highly advantageous Other Requirements: Must be a local candidate within 30 miles of Oak Harbor, WA, or own a suitable private practice office location for assessments Ability to perform exams on an PRN basis, with flexibility for half-day or full-day shifts Willingness to complete required credentialing and onboarding processes promptly Ability to regularly perform administrative duties such as report writing and addendums, which are included in the flat-rate compensation Travel costs are included in rates when working locally This role offers an attractive hourly rate of $624.00, with flat rates for half-day ($800) and full-day ($1,600) shifts, along with a one-time bonus of $650 for completing onboarding and initial exams.
