For Victorian based employees, the compliance date is 26 November 2021.All other global Boeing locations do not have a vaccination requirement at this time.Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity with the P-8 Poseidon Mission System team for a highly motivated first level manager to lead the Software Development and Systems Integration Labs team located in Kent, WA.The P-8 Mission Systems Labs consist of six software development labs and two systems integration labs.-- The labs support development of new capabilities, production aircraft deliveries and existing fleet configurations for both US and international customers.- The lab team is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and modification of those labs.Position Responsibilities

  • Actively manage lab operations to ensure lab output product quality is to the highest standards.
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of lab support, design, planning, and modification.
  • Coordinate resource support across multiple teams to support laboratory maintenance and modifications.
  • Information System Owner (ISO) overseeing the overall procurement, development, integration, modification, operation and maintenance of lab information systems in accordance with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency's (DCSA) Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Coach, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance.
  • Respond to production and customer related issues and lead initiatives to influence cross-functional improvements
  • Monitor team performance and exercise lean practices to improve lab efficiency
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reportsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.- The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Kent, WA.This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)Basic Qualifications
    • Have an ABET Accredited Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree
    • 5+ years of experience in an engineering-management or technical lead role
    • 3 or more years of experience leading projects or people
    • 1 or more years in preparing and presenting executive level briefings
    • Confident in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and able to multi-task and manage expectationsPreferred Qualifications
      • Lab management experience
      • 3 or more years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams working on major development programs
      • More than 5 years of experience conducting test in a lab or production environment
      • More than 5 years of experience leading or managing cross-functional or cross-organizational teams within engineering and/or testTypical Education/ExperienceEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
