Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for a Flight Software Engineer (Associate, Experienced) to join our team in Kent, WA.This exciting software engineering position will work within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence, and Weapons Systems (SIWS) team for their Satellite Division in Kent, WA. This position will work on existing and emerging programs. A successful candidate is passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment to design, develop and implement control and communications software for a new fleet of Boeing satellites.Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced level Software Engineers.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full life-cycle development including requirements analysis, software architecture, design, coding, unit test, integration and formal qualification.
  • Candidate should possess excellent communications skills to participate in design and code reviews, have a thorough understanding of version control and software quality attributes, such as testability, portability and maintainability, and enjoy a self-driven and collaborative development approach.
  • Communication payload resource control, data management and network interfaces. -
  • Guidance and navigation control algorithms. -
  • Web-based tools and services supporting satellite development and operations.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. - The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. -An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): -
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
    • 1+ years of software development experience in C++ using object-oriented design methods. -
    • 1+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
    • Proficient in UML modeling
    • Proficient in Agile processes and DevOps toolsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): -
      • 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Proficiency in design and implementation of multi-threaded real-time applications; use of TCP/IP protocols and user/kernel level OS abstractions.
      • Hands-on experience with Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, TCL, XML. -
      • Experience with avionics control algorithms, search algorithms and math libraries, telemetry and command handling. -
      • Hands-on experience with hardware interfaces, embedded processor architectures, I/O device drivers and board support packages. -
      • Proficient in test-driven developmentTypical Education/Experience:Associate (Level 2)Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Experienced (Level 3)Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
