a Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join our P8 Mission
Systems Trainers software team in Kent, WA. This position will
focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)
business organization.The P8 Trainers Software Team develops
software which implements training objectives and incorporates the
P8 Tactical Open Mission System (TOMS) into multiple contracted
training products.This Software Team Lead will work with a
multifaceted engineering team to design, develop, and deploy
software that consists of real time simulation of mission system
devices and support tools. The selected engineer will perform
software leadership and engineering activities in all phases of the
software development lifecycle to implement real-time embedded
software applications simulating mission equipment including
navigation, communications, sensors, weapons and more. This
engineer must also provide integration support for P-8 Mission
System assets deployed in training system environments. The
position requires experience with the Agile process and lifecycle
management tools and the ideal candidate must be able to serve as
an Agile mentor and coach for the team. This engineer will also
develop technical and cost estimates in support of new business
proposals.Occasional travel may be required but would be less than
10%.Position Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, analyzes, and maintains software systems
that meet industry, customer, and internal quality, safety,
security and certification standards.
- Partners with appropriate stakeholders to inform system
definition and translate system-level requirements into software
requirements and models that meet customer, operational needs,
performance requirements and have clear traceability to design,
code and test artifacts.
- Completes software system-level analyses to identify risks,
issues and opportunities; integrates and deploys mitigation actions
throughout the software lifecycle.
- Performs/Leads code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements
and standards.
- Monitors and reviews test completion, verification processes,
and issue resolution for software systems.
- Develops user documentation and training to educate end users
about usage of software products.
- Reviews product and process for alignment with project plans
and industry standards by tracking and evaluating internal team and
supplier performance.
- Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks
and changes in regulations relevant to software development.
- Performs/Leads software project management and software
supplier management activities.This position is expected to be 100%
onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at
one of the listed location options.This position requires the
ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S.
Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S.
Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.To be considered for this
position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as
part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment
will remove you from consideration.Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience):
- 2 or more years' of experience developing/maintaining team
schedules, resource management, risk management and mitigation, and
project management.
- Knowledge of JIRA, GIT, Maven and other project management
software.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study
in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics,
mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 2 or more years' of experience in an engineering technical lead
or management role.
- 2 or more years' of experience in Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
development.Typical Education/Experience:Experienced Level:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).Senior Level:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work
experience).Relocation: This position offers relocation based on
