Associates Executive Search, Inc. has been retained by Kent School,
located in Kent, Connecticut, to conduct a national search for a
Director of the Parents Fund and the Parents Programs. Kent
School Kent School is a private, co-educational college preparatory
school located in Kent, Connecticut. Frederick Herbert Sill, Order
of the Holy Cross, established the school in 1906 and it retains
its affiliation with the Episcopal Church of the United States. The
scenic 1200-acre campus is situated alongside the Housatonic River
and a section of the Appalachian Trail.

The Head of School is Michael Hirschfeld. The current endowment

The School Mission: As an independent boarding school in keeping
with the Episcopal Church, we prepare students for college and for

The Director of the Parents Fund and Parent Programs works with
the Associate Head of School for External Affairs and the Director
of Development to develop and implement a strategic and
comprehensive program to identify, engage, solicit, and steward
parents of current students, parents of alumni, and grandparents.
The Director recruits and manages parent volunteers and helps plan
programs and events for these constituencies. The Director works
collaboratively with volunteers, donors, and colleagues in the
Alumni & Development Office as well as other departments. This
position reports to the Director of Development.
The Position Responsibilities Include:
Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan for the Kent
Parents Fund, Parents of Alumni Fund and Grandparents Fund, working
closely with the Associate Head of School for External Affairs and
the Director of Development. This includes drafting appeal letters
and coordinating mailings.
Work with the Director of Research to identify major gift
prospects among current parents and parents of alumni
Oversee the Senior Parent Gift, including identifying gift
initiative, coordinating mailings, recruiting and supporting senior
Develop and coordinate, with the Director of Development, parent
engagement, cultivation, and stewardship events, both on and off
Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of high-level
Parents Fund donors
Travel as needed to meet with parents, with the possibility of
Attend Alumni & Development events, including, but not limited
to, NYC Holiday Party and area receptions
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 three years of direct, front-line
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills;
Excellent organizational and time management skills; Demonstrated
working knowledge of industry best practices
Proficient in the use of Raiser’s Edge fundraising software and
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; Ability
to handle multiple projects with high attention to organization and
detail; Ability to travel and work outside of regular business
hours when necessary
