As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will design and develop valves and mechanisms (main propellant cryogenic valves; hot gas turbine bypass valves; ancillary pneumatic valves for propellants, pneumatics, and hydraulics; TVC actuators; and related hardware) for various rocket engines and spaceflight systems. You will be responsible for a valve's complete product life-cycle from initial requirements through flight qualification including design, manufacturing, test support, performing test data reviews, processing non-conforming hardware and writing technical reports. You will need to have a background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and structural mechanics to be successful. This position will report directly to a valves and mechanisms manager within the Engines business unit.

Qualifications

* Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired) * Familiarity with a variety of valve types & architectures, fluid control systems, and mechanisms * Previous experience with valve design, development, and components * 5+ years of industry experience in a related field * Computer aided design (CAD) experience * Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) * Familiarity with data analysis and data processing * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired

* M.S. in engineering discipline or higher * Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10 * Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis * Strong knowledge of hardware design processes, and hardware fabrication techniques, related to valves
