Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origins vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a team of specialists and engineers, you will ensure the Complex Electronic Hardware Quality for various spaceflight systems. You will report to the Senior Manager of Program Quality for Launch Vehicles and assure the successful execution of electronic hardware development plans that support compliance with internal processes and customer requirements; approve electronic hardware configurations for safety critical functions; and collaborate on process improvement initiatives. You must have a passion for solving complex problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable as you will work on a variety of applications and systems.Additional responsibilities include:Perform product and process assurance activities for complex electronic hardware in accordance with the objectives of DO-254 Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic HardwareParticipate in all aspects of electronic hardware development including planning, design and development, configuration management, problem reporting, artifact review, verification and validation, and transition to production.Assess project plans, including management and development plans for electronics, for completeness, correctness, and other quality attributes.Participate in engineering design reviews and evaluate the requirements for the complex electronic device for accuracy, completeness, and compatibility with the rest of the system.Monitor and witness verification and validation activities for compliance with approved plans and ensure anomalies and problems are officially documented.Engage with Software Quality when it has been determined that software will be running on the complex electronic device.Work with System Safety and Engineering to ensure appropriate identification of safety-related or mission critical requirements.Support capability assessments of vendors contracted to design complex electronic hardware and assess vendor compliance to Blue Origin electronic hardware development requirements.Identify areas for process improvement and support process improvement initiatives that drive process, product, and system quality.Generate metrics and trending for managing risk and communicating electronic hardware readiness for safety critical terface with external customers and auditors on the quality assurance process and related concerns.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science10+ years industry experience in the engineering field with at least 5 years in a hardware quality engineer role auditing and assuring development assurance process compliance5+ years experience identifying process-related problems, performing root cause analysis and managing corrective actionsFamiliarity with AS9100, or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programsMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operationsFamiliarity with RTCA/DO-178C, RTCA/DO-254 and/or RTCA/DO-200BFamiliarity with IPC 6XX and NASA-STD-8739.n (or similar) standardsExperience in AS9145, Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval ProcessExperience developing and testing real-time embedded systems, control systems, device drivers, mobile devices, or communication systemsExperience with Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviationAmerican Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certificationSix Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certificationITARRequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. 1157-1158.
