As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will perform hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, disassembly, testing and maintenance of cutting edge rocket engines and various spaceflight vehicles and systems at our new, state of the art manufacturing facility and headquarters in Kent, WA. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities:Assemble rocket engines, rocket engine turbomachinery, and space vehicles. Machine and weld, test mechanical and fluids according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications and written proceduresCoordinating hardware processing such as inspection, cleaning, and shippingMaintain inventory of tooling and equipmentSafely working with hazardous systems, containing chemicals and/or high pressureSetup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup, etc.Perform second party verification's and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written proceduresTroubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence controlOperate various materials handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and sub-assembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as requiredSetup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including but limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instrumentsSupport vehicle checkouts such as fluid lines leak checks and full vehicle power-on system checksIdentify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiencyPerform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESDOther duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.Qualifications: High School diploma or GEDAll experience in manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field will be consideredAbility to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilitiesAbility to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test proceduresBasic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to climb ladders/stairs and work in small restricted areasPerform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items, >50lbsWork off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessaryAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related fieldMilitary experienceExperienced in handling large aerospace componentsExperienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment#KentManufacturingJobFairITAR RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. 1157-1158.
