As part of a hard-working team of engineers, you will share in the team's impact on design and development of rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Blue Origin's launch vehicle program requirements for various spaceflight systems. You will lead a team of highly talented engineers, and monitor team performance. You will be responsible for building and developing the existing team as well as new members from recruitment, using mentorship and career planning. You will also be managing and allocating engineering resources to deliver success across all engine programs.

In this role, you will directly impact all existing and future engine programs. You will champion processes that produce our loads and dynamic environments. Your team will need to work closely with analysis and test throughout the entire life cycle of an engine to ensure programs are successful and structural requirements are met. Your team will also be responsible for a small set of in-house analytical tools. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring technical processes. You will champion process initiatives to improve our ability to accurately produce loads and dynamic environments while also meeting business needs. You will work closely with the program and chief engineering functions to tailor technical processes and requirements to meet program needs. Additionally, you may participate as a non-advocate reviewer for program and hardware reviews. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent understanding of structural dynamics fundamentals. You will need to be familiar with how rocket engine operations produce loads on structure. You will need to have experience with the development of loads and environments. Basic understanding of liquid rocket engine systems, certification, and risks are important. Past experience with people management is desirable. You will need to be self-directed, balance several tasks at one time, and communicate effectively.


  • BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in loads and dynamic environments, with at least some of that in launch vehicle or engine development
  • 1+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Must be a US citizen or national, US permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the US as a refugee or granted asylum


  • Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize team resources
  • Experience with rocket engine loads and environments development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement
