Earth.Blue Origin is looking for a UI Designer that will create
beautiful, efficient, responsive designs for Blue Origin's family
of marketing websites, customer portals, and brand portals, to
ensure that all of our customers have an excellent, accessible
experience and can easily discover the information they're looking
for on any page.The best candidates will focus heavily on
partnership, communication, and earned trust. Our desire is to move
fast, be engaging, and ensure the most accessible experience
possible for our users.Day to day tasks will include:
- Receive UX or initial page mockups and or requirements from the
Marcom Team and any additional stakeholders, and extend them to
address detailed views as needed for any webpage
- Present design solutions back to Marcom for brand and
communications approval
- Deliver mobile-first and multiple responsive design views to
the development team for build
- Receive developer feedback and workshop new design solutions as
needed to balance and satisfy the needs of customers, the brand
team, and the development team's technology restrictions
- Create page layouts that accommodate all major mobile and
desktop platforms (informed by our site analytics)
- Continually refine and improve the global navigation system for
each Blue Origin website
- Gather and present examples of how competitors are solving the
same problem
- Create designs for the upcoming Digital Asset Management system
to allow public and Team Blue to efficiently browse and locate the
right media assets
- Continually monitor our catalog of layout modules. Recommend
altered designs at the component level that helps our content to be
consistent and premium across every page
- Manually alter background image assets wherever they are used
on our website to ensure ADA and WCAG compliance and complete
legibility, while presenting on-brand imagery as defined by the
brand and creative team
- Ensure that the build of each web page represents the design
intent during the development process
- Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing
product experience updates.
- Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design
process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups,
and/or high fidelity prototypes.
- Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes,
refinements, and improvements to enhance the performance of each
page.
- Produce and test interaction flows and mocks, using research to
accurately communicate product functionality to the team.
- Produce designs that reflect Blue Origins visual design
language and brand guidelines from a user focused design
strategy
- Create and maintain basic user personas for our target
audiences
- Document and maintain our end-to-end digital customer
journeys
- Ultimately reduce the dependency of 3rd parties contributing to
site(s)
- Be proficient in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
applications
- Skills in communicating and influencing product design
strategy
- Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve
features within a user-centered design processDon't meet every
