Job Requirements:We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! - Responsibilities: - Operate static and dynamic load frames Testing under ASTM Standards. High temperature, low temperature, and ambient tests. Assist customers in unique test design. Assist team with installation and commissioning new mechanical test systems. Communicate with technicians and engineers regarding best practices for mechanical testing. - Observe all safety protocols. Some machining for test specimen Follow Laboratory Best Practices. Help to maintain 5S compliance Demonstrate strict attention to detail in executing laboratory analyses Safely work with hazardous systems containing high-temperatures, cryo-temperatures, high pressure, and stored energy. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and some overtime may be required. Qualifications: 2+ years' experience in a laboratory setting. An enthusiastic team player 1+ years' experience working with universal load frames and software including strain gauges and extensometers. Basic engineering laboratory skills: weights and measures, chemical hygiene, materials safety planning, personal protective equipment, contamination control, job hazard analysis, and work instruction. AS or Bachelor of science degree or technical degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering. Direct relevant testing experience in a physical test lab may be considered in lieu of education. Experience may be substituted for education Strong written and personal computer skills Familiarity with ASTM and NADCAP standards Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. - Desired: Familiarity with typical aerospace testing and quality processes (AS9100, FOD Control, Lean, 5S, etc.) Knowledge of the types of materials and processes used to fabricate aerospace components - Export Control Regulations - Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. -as a refugee or granted asylum. - Employee Benefits include: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, short and long-term disability and 401(k) with up to 5% company match.
