Job Title: Jobsite Services Technician/Installer

Department: Seattle Contract Commercial

Reports to: Installed Services Manager, Anthony Gault

FLSA Status: Hourly


This position is responsible for service and installation of doors, frames, and hardware. Successful candidates must be capable of performing and supporting all installation and service work concerning doors, frames, finish hardware. This position directly supports all commercial door, frame, hardware, sales. A successful candidate must be a team player and be able to take direction and work for many different people at once. Due to the nature of the construction industry this position may require overtime.

The key to this position is to be able to quickly respond to service/installation issues. It is critical to be very organized and to quickly write-up all service calls and issue paperwork to the main customer contact/consultant so that the various sales consultants can resolve issues with their customer. It is also important for this position to analyze workload and to communicate back to sales consultants where you are at on a project and how long it will take you to complete it.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must maintain valid Washington state driver's license, clean driving record, and forklift, and specialty equipment licenses and/or use certifications. On the job training always available.


High School and/or GED certification; experience and/or training in construction trades is helpful. On the job training is available.


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Heavy use of fractional measurements and conversion between fractional and decimal numbers. Extensive use of tape measures and basic addition and subtraction of fractional numbers


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Ability to effectively use current suite of Microsoft Windows. Displayed competency with portable communications devices such as smart phones and/or other mobile electronic/computer equipment. Competency of internal operating systems (eclipse) and any other software which supports this position.


Must maintain a current and insurable Washington state driver's license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


Install and service all types of architectural doors, frames, hardware, and access control components on building fronts, and interior and exterior walls

Installs and services hinges, pivots, handles, locks, closers, auto operators, and all other hardware that BH&S distributes and/or represents to architectural doors and frames.

Installs doors and frames and plumb, level, and square.

Operates and maintains carpentry, locksmith, MIG welding, and specialty hardware, door, and frame power tools and jigs

Reading of construction documents, specifications and drawings

Be able to read finish hardware schedules

Other duties may be assigned.

Document your job from beginning to end. This includes keeping track of travel times, making note of each job progress, taking pictures, and tracking hours on the job.

Adhere Job site / contractor rules

Always use the necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). This includes hi visibility clothing, safety glasses, gloves, proper work shoes, and hard hats.
